Our Mission The Minority Forum is an employee-based affinity group designed to create a platform that supports all U.S. minority employees to feel welcomed, connected, included and supported.
Objectives
- Provide learning development and networking opportunities for our members.
- Create and leverage best practices across the Minority Forum.
- Collaborate with the Diversity and Inclusion organization and business to develop and recommend solutions to address issues specific to minorities.
- Assist with recruitment and retention of minorities.
- Partner with business units to help them achieve their goals and objectives through minority-focused initiatives.
- o Enhance Sara Lee involvement in minority communities.
Since December 2006, the Minority Forum has provided learning, development and networking opportunities for their members through their quarterly meetings. This includes focus areas such as:
- Career development speeches from top executives.
- How to manage your own career and internal career development panels with representatives at various levels.
- Every employee’s role in creating the ideal company culture.
- External speakers who discuss the importance of crucial conversations with peers and supervisors regarding an employee’s performance.
- Deep dives on business topics such as Sara Lee’s innovation process, our brands, multicultural marketing and insights to action.
