Crandall Bowles - Chairman of Springs Industries Inc., director since 2008

CrandallCrandall C. Bowles is chairman of Springs Industries Inc. (home furnishings) and The Springs Company (real estate and investments) since 2007. Until August, 2007, Bowles was also chairman and chief executive officer of Springs Global Participações, a textile home furnishings company based in Brazil. She was elected to the board of director of Sara Lee Corporation in 2008. Bowels serves on the Compensation, Employee Benefits and Finance Committees.

Bowles joined Springs Industries as an executive vice president in 1992, was appointed president and chief operating officer in 1997 and then chairman and CEO in 1998. From 1978 to 1992, Bowles was an officer and subsequently president of The Springs Company, a privately-held management company. Bowles also serves as a director of Deere & Company and JPMorgan Chase & Company. She is a trustee of the Brookings Institution.

Bowles earned her bachelor of arts in economics from Wellesley College, and her masters in business administration from Columbia University.
