Ana – Assistant Management Accountant Australia

I joined Sara Lee in September 2006 as a trade spend team member. The role involved distributing and processing customer trade-related expense claims for the Household & Body Care business, performing credit control duties and reporting data to the business unit. It exposed me to various areas of the company, from customer service and sales to distribution and warehousing.

In 2007 I was promoted to trade spend team leader, overlooking processing of trade-related expenses for all business units (Bakery, Coffee & Tea Retail and Foodservice and Household & Body Care) with the support of two team members.

In 2008 I took another career step as an assistant management accountant for Coffee & Tea Retail. In this role I have the opportunity to not only put into practice my professional studies in accounting but also improve processes that will add value to the business. I got to visit the biggest roast and ground coffee factory in the world, Sara Lee’s facility in Jundiai, Brazil. This has been a great experience that has added to my passion for coffee and the work we do with our brands in Australia and worldwide.

By going the extra mile in every position I held in the past two-and-a-half years I made the most of my development opportunities, and Sara Lee has always supported my ambition to self-develop and learn every aspect of the business. “Striving for a culture of continuous improvement and cultivating a passion to excel” are part of Sara Lee’s values, and they are alive and well in its culture.
