Our Selection Process
Submitting your Resume
Please submit an up to date resume and covering letter when applying for employment at Sara Lee. We also request that you outline your suitability to the role you are applying for and indicate your salary expectations.
Preparing for your Interview
Sara Lee Australia utilises a “behavioural based” interview technique that links questions to the critical competencies required for a role. This interview technique is based on the principle that understanding your performance and previous experience gives us an accurate prediction of your future performance and capability.
Questions can include what you know about the company as well as technical questions relating to the skills and knowledge required to carry out the role at a minimum performance level.
Reference Checks
We require all employees to undergo background checks which include reference checking. You will be asked to provide the contact details of 2 previous line managers. Referees will not be contacted without your prior permission.
Assessment The assessment and decision making process at Sara Lee takes into account the combined results of your performance at interview, reference checks and any work related ability tests that may be appropriate to the role.
When will you hear back from us We appreciate applying for a work opportunity can be an exciting but anxious time. We endeavour to acknowledge each application upon receipt. However, although we would love to provide you with an update or the outcome of your application, due to the volume of enquiries we receive we are sometimes unable to do so until the end of the recruitment process.
We do, however, aim to provide each candidate with a response to their application within four weeks of applying for a position.
